Talk-show host Jerry Springer joined the Broadway cast of Chicago on August 18, playing the role of lawyer Billy Flynn. Springer recently played a limited run in the London company, as well.
You don’t have to go to New York to see Springer in Chicago, either. He will also be performing the role in limited engagements elsewhere: Sept. 8-13 at Atlanta’s Fabulous Fox Theatre and Sept. 15-20 at Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center’s Academy of Music.

The three young men who alternate in the title roll of Billy Elliot, from Billy Elliot the Musical, will be appearing on CBS’ “The Early Show,” Tuesday, May 5, sometime between the hours of 7-9 a.m. (Eastern and Central).

Tom Wopat, likely best known for his role on “The Dukes of Hazzard,” returned to the Broadway company of Chicago yesterday, Feb. 16, at the Ambassador Theatre.
His other theatre credits include A Catered Affair and the Broadway revival of Annie Get Your Gun (opposite Bernadette Peters), 42nd Street, Chicago, City of Angels, Glengarry Glen Ross, Guys and Dolls, and I Love My Wife. Broadway musical’s revival of Chicago kicks off its North American tour, extending a bit beyond North America itself, beginning with performances in Thailand’s Bangkok at the Muang Thai Rachadalai Theatre, from Feb. 12-22. This is Chicago’s Thailand premiere, bringing the revival’s numbers to performances in 24 countries, and translations into 11 languages (though this Thai production will be performed in English).

Amra-Faye Wright joined the Broadway cast of Chicago yesterday, Feb. 2, performing the role of Velma Kelly. She has previously performed in the London and South African companies of Chicago.
