Adam Shankman, will be appearing as a guest judge on FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance,” tonight, July 11. Shankman is the director and choreographer of the upcoming “Hairspray” movie, opening July 20.
In addition to his role as a guest judge on July 11, he will be choreographing a number for the dancers to perform on the July 12 show.

Michael Ball has been one of my favorite musical theatre performers for as long as I can remember, so I just had to laugh when I heard about this!
Michael Ball, who is best known for his creation of the role of Marius in Les Miserables and more recently in the West End’s The Phantom of the Opera, will make his cross-dressing debut as Edna Turnblad in the London production of Hairspray!
(He is also making his English National Opera debut in Kismet this summer, from June 27 through July 14! …

The Broadway musical Hairspray will be playing in London, and the dates have been finalized.
Hairspray will be showing at the West End’s Shaftesbury Theatre. It will begin previews on Oct. 11, 2007, and will open for the general public on Oct. 30, 2007.
Casting is still to come, but we’ll update you when that is announced!

If you’re a fan of the upcoming movie musical “Hairspray” be sure to tune in (or set your DVR!) to MTV tonight, Wednesday May 23rd, at 11pm. MTV is offering an exclusive sneak peek 10-minute clip from the upcoming film, which premieres on July 10th.
“Hairspray” co-stars Amanda Bynes and Zac Efron will be on hand to introduce the 10-minute clip. Numerous advertising and promos will be airing all evening, as well.
