The latest Broadway revival of West Side Story opens tonight (March 19), at 6:30 p.m. at the Palace Theatre.
Arthur Laurents, who wrote the Tony-winning libretto, is directing this revival, which has been playing preview performances since February 23.

Following a fantastic run Off-Broadway at the New World Stages Theatre, Rock of Ages is moving to Broadway, beginning previews tonight, March 17, at Broadway’s Brooks Atkinson Theatre. It will officially open on April 7.

The latest Broadway revival of Guys and Dolls opened at the Nederlander Theatre on March 1, following previews that began Feb. 5.
With music and lyrics music by Frank Loesser, and a libretto by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, you may not know that it’s based specifically on two short stories by Damon Runyon (“The Idyll of Miss Sarah Brown” and “Blood Pressure”), and borrows bits and pieces of other plot elements and characters from other Runyon stories, including “Pick the Winner.”

Xanadu the musical opened last evening, July 10, at the Helen Hayes Theatre. It’s the first new musical of the 2007-2008 Broadway season.
This new musical is based on the 1980 film, which starred Olivia Newton John. The film was a flop for its time, but the soundtrack went multi-platinum. Playbill.com reports that the musical is much different from the film, with a brand new plot and the best parts of the film, which fans will appreciate.
