Broadway In Chicago recently announced that Wicked will return for an eight-week return engagement, beginning Dec. 1, 2010 through January 23, 2011. The current national tour company will return to play this engagement — interesting, since they were the company that began the original Chicago production before leaving another resident company.
Wicked previously played Chicago’s Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre, for almost four years (June 24, 2005-Jan. 25, 2009). The eight-week engagement company is set to play the Cadillac Palace Theatre at 151 W. Randolph.

Michelle Federer, who created the role of Nessarose in the original Broadway production of Wicked, returned to the Broadway role on August 18. She is succeeding Cristy Candler in the role.
Federer made her Broadway debut in Wicked.
The cast currently includes Dee Roscioli as Elphaba, Erin Mackey as Glinda, Tony Award winner Rondi Reed as Madame Morrible, P.J. Benjamin as The Wizard, Kevin Kern as Fiyero, Alex Brightman as Boq, and Timothy Britten Parker as Dr. Dillamond.

Nicole Parker, star of MADtv, will be taking over the role of Elphaba in Broadway’s Wicked from Marcie Dodd as of tonight, January 16, 2009. She is contracted to play Elphaba through mid-summer 2009.
In addition to her role on the sketch show MADtv, which she has performed on since 2003, her other screen credits include the parodies, “Meet the Spartans,” and “Disaster Movie,” and the upcoming summer film, “Funny People,” alongside Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen.

The Los Angeles non-touring production of Wicked, now playing at the Pantages Theatre, will play its final performance on Jan. 11, 2009.

Cast members from the Broadway musical Wicked will be at New York City’s FAO Schwartz toy store TODAY at 4:30 PM (Eastern Time). No, they’re not there to play around, but are there for the release of two new hand-crafted Madame Alexander Elphaba and Glinda collectible dolls.
And where there are Wicked cast members, a special performance and a doll-signing are sure to follow!
