Tonight Barbara Walters will be naming 2009 “American Idol” finalist Adam Lambert among her “10 Most Fascinating People of 2009” (ABC, Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 10 p.m. ET.)

Tomorrow, the ladies of ABC’s “The View” will welcome Lambert, as well. (”The View,” ABC, Thursday, Dec. 10., at 11a.m./10a.m. PT/C — check your local listings.)

ABC seems to be warming up to Adam Lambert again, after his controversial and risqué performance of “For Your Entertainment” on the 2009 American Music Awards, which drew at least 1500 viewer complaints, and caused ABC to cancel several of his performances on other ABC shows, including “Good Morning America,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve.”

Lambert has some surprising musical theatre connections: he played Fiyero in Wicked, as an understudy in the Broadway production company tour and the Los Angeles cast.

He is also scheduled to appear on the second part of the season finale of the Fox series “So You Think You Can Dance?” on Dec. 16. Word has it that he will be performing “Whataya Want From Me” from his solo debut album “For Your Entertainment.” Lambert will also perform on “The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien” (Dec. 14 on NBC).
