The three young men who alternate in the title roll of Billy Elliot, from Billy Elliot the Musical, will be appearing on CBS’ “The Early Show,” Tuesday, May 5, sometime between the hours of 7-9 a.m. (Eastern and Central).
Kiril Kulish, David Alvarez and Trent Kowalik alternate in the roll, but will perform side by side in the one of the show’s impressive song dance numbers, “Electricity.”

The story takes place in England’s Northeast, under the ruling of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, during the 1984-85 coal miners’ strike. It tells of a working-class boy who is expected to adhere to more “manly” prospects like boxing, but who is inadvertently exposed to ballet and dreams of becoming a ballet dancer. The story follows Billy as he pursues his dream, triumphantly facing obstacles along the way.
With music composed by Elton John, and book and lyrics by Lee Hall. Director of the stage production, Stephen Daldry also directed the inspirational motion picture of “Billy Elliot” (2000). Billy Elliot the Musical currently plays the Imperial Theatre.
