National Tours of Kinky Boots, Annie, and Motown Announced

Kinky Boots the MusicalA slew of national tours were recently announced:

Kinky Boots will launch a U.S. national tour in Las Vegas in 2014.

Based on a true story of a conservative but failing British men’s footwear factory that switches gears and starts producing kinky boots. The score is by Cyndi Lauper, the book by Harvey Fierstein.

Charlie Price is forced to step in and save his family’s shoe factory in Northern England following the sudden death of his father. Help comes from the unlikeliest angel, a fabulous drag performer named Lola. Together, this improbable duo revitalizes the failing business, while stepping out from their fathers’ shadows and transforming an entire community through the power of acceptance.

The revival of Annie will launch a U.S. national tour in the 2014-15 season.

The sun will come out every day on Broadway, as the legendary musical Annie returns to delight a new generation of theatregoers.

The plucky redheaded orphan and her scruffy mutt Sandy make their way in Depression-era New York from a dismal orphanage to the home of billionaire Daddy Warbucks. The Tony Award-winning musical includes the songs “Tomorrow,” “Little Girls,” “Easy Street,” “NYC” and “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile.”

Motown will launch a U.S. tour at Chicago’s Oriental Theatre in spring 2014.
