Sandra Bullock in talks for “Annie” Film; Tracey Ullman for “Into the Woods”
Hollywood sweetheart Sandra Bullock may be taking on a not-so-sweet role. Bullock is in talks to play the mean orphanage mistress Miss Hannigan in the updated remake of the movie musical “Annie,” alongside Quvenzhane Wallis (as Annie) and Jamie Foxx (as a renamed Daddy Warbucks, Benjamin Stacks).
If she does indeed land the part, I’m excited to hear her rendition of “Little Girls”! I think it would be a fun role for her. I can picture her acting the part quite well with her great methods of exaggeration!
Meanwhile, in “Into the Woods” casting updates, the Hollywood Reporter is reporting that comedienne Tracey Ullman is in negotiations to play Jack’s Mother.
Other cast members include Meryl Streep (The Witch), Johnny Depp (The Wolf), James Corden (The Baker), Emily Blunt (The Baker’s Wife), and may include Jake Gyllenhaal (Cinderella’s Prince), Chris Pine (Rapunzel’s Prince), Jewel (Cinderella), and Christine Baranski (Cinderella’s Stepmother).
The Disney film adaptation, which is set to begin filming in London this September, with a Christmas Day 2014 release date, as announced June 13.
