Cast of Hair revival recreates iconic moment at Ed Sullivan Theater

The revival of the 1960’s musical Hair recently returned to Broadway, opening March 31 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Tonight the cast of Hair will recreate a historic and iconic moment as they perform at the Ed Sullivan Theater on “The Late Show with David Letterman.”
Why so historical? The original Broadway cast of Hair performed at the Ed Sullivan Theater 40 years ago, on March 30, 1969, with variety show host himself, Ed Sullivan.
The original cast performed a medley of the show’s opening and closing songs, “Aquarius” and “Let the …

Guys and Dolls Revival Opened, March 1

The latest Broadway revival of Guys and Dolls opened at the Nederlander Theatre on March 1, following previews that began Feb. 5.
With music and lyrics music by Frank Loesser, and a libretto by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, you may not know that it’s based specifically on two short stories by Damon Runyon (”The Idyll of Miss Sarah Brown” and “Blood Pressure”), and borrows bits and pieces of other plot elements and characters from other Runyon stories, including “Pick the Winner.”
The musical comedy first opened on Broadway on Nov. 24, …
