Adam Lambert on ABC tonight and tomorrow, Dec. 9 & 10

Tonight Barbara Walters will be naming 2009 “American Idol” finalist Adam Lambert among her “10 Most Fascinating People of 2009” (ABC, Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 10 p.m. ET.)

“Glee: The Music Vol. 2,” featuring songs from the hit Fox series, “Glee,” arrives both digitally and in stores today, Dec. 8.

The album includes a mixture of pop and theatre songs sung in various solo and choral styles by the cast of “Glee.”

The American Theatre Wing’s 63rd Annual Antoinette Perry “Tony” Awards took place Sunday night, June 7 at Radio City Music Hall. CBS presented a live broadcast from 8-11 p.m. Eastern/7-10 p.m. Central.

The nominees for the American Theatre Wing’s 63rd Annual Antoinette Perry “Tony” Awards were announced this morning (May 5) by Tony Award winners Cynthia Nixon (Rabbit Hole) and Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights).
The Tony Awards are the most prestigious awards in the theatre world. Who do YOU think will win?

Rooms: a rock romance opened Off-Broadway last night, March 16, at New World Stages/Stage 2. Previews for the musical began Feb. 27.
Press notes say Rooms “begins in 1970s Glasgow where Monica, an ambitious singer/songwriter meets Ian, a reclusive rocker. The two quickly become entangled creatively and romantically. Spring Awakening, the Tony Award-winning coming-of-age story of teen angst, opened to the public today in London, following previews from January 23.
The musical opened at the  Lyric Hammersmith, and is scheduled to continue through March 14 — a two-week extension from the original closing date of Feb. 28. Rumors of a move to the West End are rampant, as well.

Rent granted eviction extension!

Rentheads’ (a.k.a. diehard Rent fans)  voices have been heard: the hit Broadway musical has been granted an extension, and will close September 7, 2008. This is an extension of approximately 3 months. (Previously a closing date of June 1 had been reported.) No doubt ticket demand had some influence in this case.
If you’ve already bought tickets for up to the June 1 date, you now have the option of attending a later performance. The final performance is now 6:30 PM on September 7, and, according to Ticketmaster.com, tickets are on …
